Individual settling-in model

The settling-in process for new children is a sensitive and individual process that lays the foundation for a trusting relationship between the family, the child and the educational team. Our settling-in model is based on the needs of the child and at the same time offers clear structures and security.

Aims of settling in
• Creating a secure bond with the teaching staff
• Gently getting used to the new daily routine, the premises and the group
• Gradual separation from the parent at a pace that suits the child
• Positive first experiences in nursery as the basis for a successful period of education and development

Settling-in process
The first few days are deliberately accompanied and limited in time to allow the child to gently approach everyday life at nursery. One parent remains present throughout the agreed time.

Please take your time – settling in as a joint process
Settling in at nursery is a significant step – for your child and for you as their caregiver.
This is often the first time that families experience a real separation process. This can be emotionally challenging and requires one thing above all else: time.
We would like to point out that you should allow at least two weeks, or even more, for the settling-in period.
Every child is unique and develops trust at their own pace. Some children only need a few days, others several weeks – both are completely normal.

This process is not always easy for parents either. It is often harder than expected to let go, and your own insecurities can be transferred to your child. A calm, attentive attitude helps your child to gain confidence and feel comfortable in their new environment.

Our goal is to work with you to create a stable foundation where your child feels safe, seen and secure. A successful settling-in period is the basis for your child to enjoy coming to us and to build trust.

Thank you for taking the time – for your child, for yourself and for a good start.

Individual adaptation

As every child reacts differently to new situations, we adapt the settling-in period flexibly. Our main concern is that the child feels safe, comfortable and not overwhelmed. If there are signs of overwhelm, we shorten the attendance time and continue the settling-in process the next day.

Communication and cooperation
Open communication is particularly important to us. If you have any questions or concerns, we are always available in person, by telephone or in writing. Only together can we ensure a positive and successful start.
